This necklace pairs with the Cleft Cuff, and is the fourth piece I have designed around an experimental wax-extrusion process which I began developing in 2024, during a residency at Arrowont School of Crafts. It begins with a die cut out of metal plate; I force wax through the die to create a bar with consistent cross section, then form the bars and lost wax cast them in-house. Using a steam de-waxing process prior to burning out the molds, I am able to re-claim & re-use about 90% of the wax. The nature of the wax surface varies extrusion to extrusion, meaning no two are exactly alike.
