Inspired by a the shape of a horse molar, and the quest to find gratitude, beauty, and growth within the pain of heartbreak.  To make these necklaces I push soft wax through a hand-cut die, to create long bars with the sculpted cross-section.  Once hardened, I shatter or cut the wax bars and select the suitable pieces for casting.  After some preliminary finishing of the wax, I lost-wax cast them in my home studio.   To finish, the cord opening is refined with rotary tools, any sharp edges are smoothed, and the metal is tumbled in ceramic media.  Shibuichi necklaces are treated with a sulfur patina, which will evolve significantly with wear.

*Because of the process used to make these pendants, each one is completely unique and not repeatable.  Aside from the first image (un-numbered), images show specific necklaces, associated with specific lines on the drop-down menu; please choose carefully when ordering.
