  • A reminder of life's sweetness...

My mother Daphne is a sculptor, and we collaborated to create this new version of the Lodestone Bracelet.  Daphne developed the illustration, we worked together to lay it out on the clasp’s form, I coordinated the creation of a new master and molds, and am producing the bracelets at my Biddeford studio.  Daphne chose the bee & rose motif thinking about the prick of thorns, and how life remains sweet and beautiful even if it gives you a little jab every now and then.

I am gradually phasing out the initial Lodestone design, and the new SOUVENIR collaboration will be available exclusively here on my site, in person at shows, and at The Edison Studio, on Monhegan Island.

The magnets are fully encased in metal, eliminating the possibility of them shattering as they come together. The leather cords are held in place by bolts, allowing resizing and cord replacement. The master was modeled to spec in CAD by the talented Nick Thompson of Berlian Arts then 3D printed in wax, hand detailed by yours truly, cast in metal, and molded. The main components are lost wax cast in Rhode Island. The bolts are brass, or silver plated stainless steel. The leather is imported from England.

Because this design incorporates leather it is not recommended for wear in the water.

The magnets are extremely strong, but it is possible for them to become separated during especially vigorous activities, like carpentry or rock climbing.  While many folks wear it 24/7, I refer to it as a 'dress piece' for this reason.
