This necklace was originally designed in collaboration Maine design agency Might & Main as part of their Resurgam Collection. Through numerous conversations and exchanges of sketches we came to this form for the centerpiece. Reminiscent of a mooring buoy or dock hardware, with a leather washer between, it speaks to Portland’s history as a city of industry. Hand carved master. The metal components are sand cast and finished in house using a combination of machining and hand work. The leather washers are laser cut to spec here in Maine. The cord is marine grade machine braided nylon. Both color options I wax in house. I hand dye the brown cord before waxing. The tan cord is pigmented rather than dyed and will fade to a pale grey color over time. Finished with signature sister clasps, the sides of which can pass through each other when the slots are lined up precisely parallel. 22”cord including clasps. If you would like a different length (up to 30”) please leave a note at checkout.
How to use the Sister Clasps:
First model is 6' 2" tall, 130 lbs.
Second model is 5' 7" tall, 145 lbs.
