This bracelet is my first collaboration with leatherworker Jon Lim, aka. Mr. Hide. Jon and I had spoken a few times online before meeting by chance at a craft show in San Francisco. Going into the design of this bracelet I really wanted to capture the distinct nature of Jon’s style; crisp, clean, and elegant. The bail of the hook is crimped in place through the leather for a strong and subtle connection. The hook itself fits though the leather with a satisfying ‘pop’. It takes a bit of practice to put it on and take it off, but most folks find the maneuver quickly mastered. Hand carved master. Lost wax cast in Rhode Island and hand finished in house. Leather is tanned in Italy and waxed in Japan before being hand cut by Jon. It darkens beautifully with wear. Because this design incorporates leather it is not recommended for wear in the water.
